Neuromuscular & Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy

What is Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy?

electrical-stimulation
Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy (FSM) is a painless, non-invasive FDA-approved way of decreasing inflammation, reducing muscle tension, and releasing scar tissue.  FSM uses tiny pulses of energy to promote healing on a cellular level.

FSM is most often used to treat nerve and muscle pain and can help reduce or relieve pain due to many conditions including:

  • Inflammation
  • Scar Tissue
  • Disc Injuries
  • Back and Neck Pain
  • Headaches & Migraines
  • Sciatica
  • Acute & Chronic Nerve Pain
  • Fractures & Bone Pain
  • Arthritis
  • Torticollis
  • Concussions
  • Foot Pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sports injuries
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Neuromas
  • Neuropathy
  • Tendinopathy

Frequency Specific Microcurrent is CONTRAINDICATED for persons with:

  • Active Infection/Antibiotics
  • Pacemakers
  • Electrically Powered Implants
  • Transplants
  • Insulin Pumps
  • Pregnancy
  • Active Cancer/Cancerous Lesions
  • Seizures

FSM IS SAFE TO USE WITH PINS, PLATES, ARTIFICIAL JOINTS, & STENTS

Answers to Common Questions about Frequency Specific Microcurrent

HOW DOES FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT (FSM) WORK?

FSM is based on the principle of biological resonance. Injury, trauma or disease can all diminish the normal electromagnetic field of the body. Damaged cells may no longer have enough energy to communicate with other cells on the pathways that decrease inflammation and promote healing. FSM works by delivering energy into injured cells to restore their normal voltage. By nature, we are electromagnetic beings and our spines were designed to move current.  The very small electric charges used in FSM mimic those that are constantly taking place in every tissue and cell in our bodies. There are frequencies to specifically match every cell and tissue in the body, and restoring this resonance has been shown to improve healing and reduce pain.

DO THE BENEFITS LAST?

Every person responds individually but the changes to the tissues being treated seem to be long-lasting.  About 60 - 80% of the changes created in one treatment last until the next treatment, about 4-7 days.  Your muscles are used to responding the way they have been and may return to the old configuration if not treated again, although some patients have had permanent changes in one treatment.  Three sessions of FSM are recommended for most conditions, more complex issues may need continued therapy.

How many treatments of FSM are needed?

A series of 3 FSM  treatments (4-7 days apart) is recommended for most conditions. People with a complex history of injury or trauma may need weekly treatments for 4-6 weeks. The results seem to be long-lasting providing that there is proper care and no further injury to the area. As with any type of therapy, no results can be guaranteed.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Microcurrents can change muscle tissue, soften and dissolve scar tissue, and increase circulation. The subsequent effect of removing long-stored waste products and increasing cellular metabolism so quickly may result in a detoxification reaction after treatment. The side effects can include nausea, fatigue, drowsiness, a temporary increase in pain, or a brief flu-like feeling.  Drinking plenty of water before and after your session will help your body in detoxifying gently.  There have been no lasting adverse effects reported. FSM has a history of being very safe.

YOUR FIRST FSM THERAPY SESSION

After discussing your general health and goals for your session, you will relax in a recliner or on a massage table. Wet towels or conductive pads are applied to the body to conduct the currents.  FSM is painless and gentle, without any zapping sensations.  Patients describe feeling floaty and relaxed, possibly from endorphins released during treatment.  Some people fall asleep during their sessions. Sessions are usually an hour or longer depending on the issues being treated.

FSM will not have any effect on people who are dehydrated. It is essential to drink at least 1-2 quarts of plain water in the 2 hours before your session. Please wear comfortable clothes and do not use any body oil or lotions as these will prevent the microcurrents from working.

Is FSM like TENS?

FSM and TENS  (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) are both FDA-approved for pain relief yet are entirely different. The frequencies used in FSM  are delivered in microamperage current which is 1000x less intense than a TENS.  FSM uses these low-level electrical charges to increase ATP and repair the damaged cellular pathways that control and perceive pain - often resulting in long-term relief.

A TENS device may work temporarily by using very high-level milliamperage currents that cause muscle contractions to scramble pain signals that are trying to get up the spine and to the brain.  A TENS device simply blocks pain signals and does not increase ATP or improve the cellular functions essential for healing.

How can Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy help you heal?

In the fields of natural healing and regenerative medicine, Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy is emerging as a cutting-edge therapy that helps your body to repair and heal itself. One session of FSM can increase the body's natural cellular energy by up to 700%, as shown in published blood studies. It is likely that this improvement in the cellular energy of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a major factor in why FSM speeds healing as damaged tissues and nerves have more cellular energy to do the work of repairing and healing. Blood studies after one FSM session also showed an impressive decrease in 3 key inflammatory markers Interleukin 4, Interleukin 6, and Substance P, as well as an increase in Beta Endorphin levels which promote a feeling of wellness.

Experience Microcurrent Therapy

When Neuromuscular Therapy helps but doesn't get to the root of your chronic pain, microcurrent therapy can painlessly promote healing on a cellular level to decrease inflammation and decrease bone, nerve, and muscle pain for long term relief.

FSM is FDA approved for decreasing inflammation and relieving chronic muscle, nerve and bone pain.

About Me

Pamela Bouvier

I was introduced to  Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy in 2019.  One session provided weeks of relief for a chronically painful foot condition that had been disabling to me at times for several years, despite regular neuromuscular and chiropractic care.

In 1993 I graduated from The Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy. I became Nationally Certified as an LMT in 1996 and am Certified in Craniosacral, Full Body Active Release Techniques (ART) , ACE Medicupping & Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy.

I became certified in Frequency Specific Microcurrent in 2019 and offer it in conjunction with neuromuscular therapy to provide people with optimal pain relief.
